Welcome to Riverwood Ranch
We are a third generation heritage ranch, nestled within the slopes of the Pembina Valley. Located approximately one hour west of Edmonton, Riverwood homesteaded in the Evansburg Area in 1909. Our ranch goal is to promote the western ideologies associated with ranching while providing a unique ranch experience to every equine enthusiast. We offer a variety of equine services to all levels of riders. Riverwood ranch provides horse training, horseback riding lessons, guided trail rides and adventure cattle drives. We also provide a variety of clinics and seminars to choose from including our partnership with the Canadian Cowboy Association. We host obstacle clinics and competitions at our facility with an impressive man made and outdoor trail course. We encourage guests to bring their own horses or simply rent one of ours in order to get back in the saddle. With beautiful landscapes, friendly horses, and a welcoming staff, Riverwood Ranch promises to provide a relaxing, scenic experience like no other.
Horse Training, Lessons, Clinics, Obstacle Courses, Trail Rides and Cattle Drives
Our mission at Riverwood is to uphold true western practices and ideologies that help to maintain a traditional way of life. Riverwood is also considered to be an active farm operation as we currently manage and provide custom cow/calf pasturing services. We are active members within our agricultural community as we try to be the first to lend support to any neighbour in need.
In the future, Riverwood hopes to combine agricultural and outdoor development strategies with youth leadership programming. We believe that agriculture, horsemanship and the outdoors are the perfect setting to help encourage personal development. We also strive to create training seminars where all equine enthusiasts can feel comfortable learning how to improve their relationships with their horse under the direction of our competent instructors. We take pride in training horses with solid ranch fundamentals that can expand into an array of disciplines. We have a simplistic philosophy that promotes values of dedication, hard work, loyalty and compassion. Our goal is to preserve traditional horsemanship and equine based farming techniques. We strive to redefine the partnership that exists between any horse and rider. We use naturalistic training methods that emphasize a balanced responsibility of knowledge, feel, trust and dedication to our horses.
