I had the ride of my life along with my 3 granddaughters – twins who are 7, and their near 9- year old sister. It was a Christmas present to them, finally come to fruition. Despite the muddy trails and complicated schedules, Megan went out of her way to make something work for us. She did a fantastic job giving all 4 of us a great riding lesson, before we safely headed off for a 2-hour ride through field and forest. We were all grinning from ear to ear in the fall sunshine as we stopped for drinks and snacks. Upon our return, the girls bonded some more with their horses as they groomed them. It was a perfect ride and we’ll be back, hopefully to get on the trails by the river next time. We are so grateful for Megan and Bruce’s care as well as the women from Denmark and Germany. You will not regret booking this experience for the horse-loving kids in your family.
Megan Saved My Riding Life! I met Megan when I joined some friends to take part in one of their cattle drives. Her energy and excitement and passion for horses was evident in everything she did. It was a tough time for me and riding. My old faithful horse was too old to really ride much. Thanks to injuries I’d suffered and life in general I’d lost my nerve and was too scared to ride my younger horse. He’s a good horse and never bucked or bolted or acted out but somehow I was scared and finding excuses not to ride. I had pretty much decided to quit riding and sell my horse. I asked Megan if she’d be willing to put some miles on my horse and she spent a month with him. She kept in touch during the month with little updates and when I went to pick him up she went over all she’d done with him, what she worked on and what I could work on. She didn’t just say “here’s your horse, have a nice life”. Knowing I was nervous, she put me on her horse and took me for a ride where she showed me what my horse could do and most importantly how he’d react when pressured. It was clear that she had completely earned his trust and his respect. There’s nothing he wouldn’t go through for her. With her on his back I tried to scare him with things like flying at him with a big scary tarp. He didn’t move a muscle. Then she put me on him and we rode more, she made sure I was confident, answered questions, gave advice. A few weeks later I went on an all day ride with my horse and felt so good I bawled happy tears. We did hills, river crossings, he was an angel and I wasn’t scared! She did more than train a horse, she saved riding for me. She knew her rider and the horse and she went WAY above and beyond. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone and I’d take lessons from her if I could. She’s gentle enough to really earn the horses trust and assertive enough to earn its respect as well. She’ll take it outside the arena and give it REAL work experience, not just stop, go, faster, slower. Can’t say enough about this fantastic person, your horse will be in great hands here!
Wow! I can’t say enough about Megan’s training abilities. She went way above and beyond in training my horse. Megan’s energy and passion for horses is evident in everything she does. And her willingness to work with the owner is second to none. I highly recommend her for any horse training. Megan is the best horse trainer imaginable. If you can possibly do lessons, it will be one of your best decisions. My horse Willow was with her for training … this horse would run thru me, had no respect, and had age against her. When I brought her home, she was totally different. Willow is now respectful, confident and a joy to work with. Megan’s training did not stop with the horse, she also provided me with lessons. I benefited from hours of groundwork exercises which has gained respect with my horse. Willow and I even learned to do the “cowboy dance” together. I am learning to “find my seat” and how to ride better. When Megan trained my horse she provided countless hours on trailering, groundwork, riding, exposure. Willow has been exposed to obstacles, trail riding, cattle drive, sorting bulls, trailering with other horses. Prior to training Willow refused to back out of a trailer. She now handles this with confidence. Megan kept in touch during training, also sent me videos and pictures. It was clear that Megan had absolute trust and respect with my horse. She provided lessons so when I took my horse home I would know what my horse could do and how she would react. She prepared me on how to work thru respect issues I previously had with Willow. Megan helped me with my confidence, answered questions, and helped me work thru issues as they arose. Thank you Megan !
